I Have My Baby Girl in My Arms

I'll just cut to the chase since I know this is the big moment everyone is waiting for.  Here she is!  Introducing Deena.....

We got of the plane at about 1:30 am India time on Saturday, went through customs, and then headed to our hotel.  The drive was almost an hour so by the time we got all checked in, upstairs, and settled it was about 4:30 am.  We slept for a few hours and then got up to eat breakfast and head out.

Our driver found Vathsalya pretty quickly, so that was great!  It was so different being back there a second time.  We knew just where to go and just what to do.  They brought Deena in quickly and she was excited to see us.  She quickly bonded with Conner over his camera and watch.  She loved sitting on my lap and really enjoyed fixing my hair.

Isn't she the cutest?!?!?!?

Deena did break a bone right before we got there on the 31st of December, so she is in a cast right now.  She is still safe to travel, so that is good!  We will get her in to the doctor after we get back to the states.

Everyone was very sad to see Deena leave, though they were also so excited for her.  Deena has been at Vathsalya since she was about 2 months old.  After visiting a bit we said our "good-byes" and then we were off!

We had to go to Sisters of Charity to sign Deena's paperwork, and that was quite an adventure including some dirt roads and little villages.  It was fun! Some of Deena's friends from Vathsalya are staying at Sisters of Charity until their adoption is complete so Deena enjoyed visiting.

We are back in the hotel now and taking it easy.  We are also praying the food we ate at the orphanage earlier doesn't make us sick ;).  Tomorrow we head to Delhi to start the next chapter of our adoption adventure.  We will keep you all updated!!
