Oh SO Not What I Wanted to Hear!

I had e-mailed back on the info we got on Ramya today, and had stated that I was hopeful that our next court date would come quickly after this one.  I had also asked if we could start applying for Ramya's passport now.  The reply I got basically said that the judge we have is known for being insanely slow and that one family that got their NOC in JANUARY (ours came only about a month ago) is STILL waiting for their last court date.  I was also told that the passport cannot be submitted until our last court date, and to make matters worse...

They have a quota of only very few applications per day and it’s usually filled within only 5 minutes (i.e. application begin being accepted at 6pm and by 6:05pm the available timeframe is closed until the next day). Much of the passport application process is literally having luck on your side and having the stars align for the orphanage to be the first one to click the application button...  The last family had to wait about 1.5 months for the orphanage to even be able to apply for the passport and then waited 11 weeks for it to be issued.

I am so thankful that our adoption agency is open and honest with us, as I don't want to have false expectations, but I am really, really (did I say really???) praying that this is not the case for us.  Please send us and our little gal all the prayers you've got!

Praying

Hi Jamie

I will keep you posted on our own progress but so far you are doing better. Ours has not even been filed yet, it appeared yet another document was missing! It has now been 2 months since we got our NOC and nothing has moved on since then. It has been a year since we accepted the referral, all these delays are so not what we want to hear but we will get there! And I am sure when we have our children at home all that went on before will be quickly forgotten... Praying for both us. Heidi
PS, can I put a link to your blog on mine?
