Our Christmas Chairs 2014
I realized I forgot to post pictures of the girl's wheelchair Christmas decorations. Ooops! And of course, for some reason, I can only find Madi's decoration photos right now. I'll update with Ramya's chair when I find them. Madi wanted angels flying around Santa, so this is what we came up with. Of course battery-powered lights on the handle bars were also in order. The girls really loved showing off the lights on their handlebars!
(it's hard to see but there are gold angels among the round colored balls)

Our Newest Wheelchair Decorations.... Disney Style!
I took the girls to Michaels and let the girls pick out new decorations. They both decided they wanted Disney decorations, since we are going to Disneyland soon. I told them to pick out anything that reminded them of Disneyland. This is what we came up with....
Madi's Chair....
The ribbon is Disney princess ribbon and the Hello Kitty is a mermaid....
Ramya's Chair...
Purple, of course...
It took a few hours to get these all on the chairs but it was so worth it! They love them!

Rockin' Spina Bifida in Style... Our Latest Wheelchair Designs
The girls love picking out decorations for their wheelchairs, and we were long over-due for a new look. They picked a really fun, random hodge podge of decorations this time, so we made it work. They also are becoming more and more involved with putting on the decorations, which is fun. After we were done (well, I should say, after *I* was done because it takes me hours and at some point they lose interest ;)), Madi hugged me and yelled, "Thank you, thank you, thank you, I LOVE it! You are the best mom EVER!" And that, my friends, is why I do what I do. The joy and pride on my girl's faces make the hours of time I spend more than worth it! Here are our fun summer chairs....
Miss Madi's Chair:
(The tiny specks are tiny wooden lady bugs she just HAD to have. They were out of the bag and scattered randomly in a bin, so a very kind worker helped me pick them all out and then sold them to us for $0.25, because Madi wanted them so badly.)
Princess Ramya's Chair:
(Ramya got this hair clip for her birthday from friends and really wanted to add it on to her chair)

New Easter Wheelchair Decorations
I took the girls to Michaels to pick new wheelchair decorations and they both picked Easter-themed decorations. For the first time ever, they both also picked similar decorations! The main difference was that Madi wanted frilly green eggs at the top and chicks on the wheels, and Ramya wanted no chicks on the wheels and birds on the back. They are very proud of their new chair decorations! I actually decorated them about a month ago, but I'm just finally getting pictures up for all to see :).
Madi's Wheelchair...
(It's hard to see but the ribbon is chicks hatching out of eggs)
And Ramya's decorations (she also had two adorable bunnies at the top of her handle bars, but they got beheaded when her chair was getting loaded, so I had to take them off)

Our Christmas Wheelchair Decorations
A few weeks back I decorated the girl's wheelchairs with the decorations they picked from Michaels. They were a bit tricky to put together, but we made it work! They LOVED their new decorations, and their smiles and cheers made it all worth while! Here is the final product...
Here is Ramya's chair. She picked all purple, of course :). The lights are battery operated and really light up, which she thinks is amazing!
(someone gave Ramya this keychain so we added it for fun :))
Madi picked mostly green decorations, but when it came time to pick her ribbon, she just had to have pink reindeer. It didn't really match too well, but she loves it, and that is what counts!

The Littlest Miss Keeping Me On My Toes
Madi has a way of keeping me on my toes in so many different ways. She is one spunky, fun, and amazing little girl! She was in need of new wheelchair decorations, as her chair was looking very shabby (and I'm not sure how considering that Ramya's still looks so nice!!) as quite a few ducks and portions of ribbons had come off. For her new decorations she chose.... fluffy monsters and psychedelic tie-dye ribbon. Yup, that's my girl! It was a bit tricky trying to figure out how to attach it all, but I was able to pull it off. She sure is proud of her new look!
