Between dance and getting sick, we were pretty worn out. We decided that we’d have a quiet and peaceful Christmas and did just that. In fact, we kept the entire week after Christmas quiet too. We slept in, took time off homeschooling, and spent our time at home. It was pretty perfect. We also celebrated David’s birthday and Deena’s 6th adoption day, so we had plenty of fun and things to keep us busy in there. We hope you all had a peaceful a Christmas too.

A Wonderful Christmas
This Christmas was a bit of a whirlwind for us. We spent so much time running around trying to gather the last of our things for our dossier that it kept us feeling pretty busy, and then you add therapy (we had therapy up until Christmas Eve) and appointments and Christmas preparations and let's just say there were a LOT of really late nights. We made it through, though, and our Christmas was wonderful. Ramya especially was excited about Christmas. She doesn't remember last year's Christmas too well, so it's all she could talk about. It was a lot of fun!
We open our stockings on Christmas Eve. The kiddos get 1 pair of PJ's, a small stuffed animal, and a sweet treat, then we watch a Christmas movie together.
The girls got doctor jackets with their names on them for pretend play....
Conner got lots of legos, of course!

Hand Powered Power Wheels for the Girls
This year for Christmas I was really wanting to get the girls a power wheels car (double one) to share. I looked up how to modify it to hand controls, and my dad felt that it was something he could do. I started looking in November on Craigslist and didn't find anything for sale (by the time I'd e-mail on it, it was already sold). Black Friday rolled around and I saw a generic one on sale at Walmart. My brother loves to shop after Thanksgiving, and was going to Walmart anyway, so he picked one up for each girl. It was cheaper to get two generic ones on sale than it was one non-generic double power wheels. These technically fit two, but are smaller than power wheels, so we opted for one for each girl so they would last longer.
The girls LOVE their cars and are having SO much fun in them! I am praying they hold up, because they are generic and not made as well as power wheels, but I know they will love them while they last!
A big thanks to each of you who shop through our Amazon link and make purchases like this possible. Though sometimes our purchases may be "extra" things that the girls don't have to have, it makes such a big difference with their quality of life to be able to enjoy "extra" things that bring them joy.
A big thanks to my older brother, Tony, who went shopping for us and braved Walmart to find these for the girls. You are awesome!
And a huge thinks to my dad, and his friend who is an elevator electrician and helped him, for modifying the cars for the girls. We could not have done this without you and the girls are so proud of their papa for making it happen!
Without further ado, here are their cars!

And a picture of the push-button my dad used (look on the left-hand side of the steering wheel.... and I think the WM stands for "Walmart" :))...
A few pictures of the happy girls on Christmas morning...
Here a few pictures with my cute little guy too...
(This year's stockings were a new pair of PJs and a snack to watch during a family Christmas movie. I think this is a new tradition for us.)

Christmas at Our Casa
Christmas was wonderful and the kids are, officially, present crazy! We spent a lot of time with family and friends, and that is just the perfect way to spend they holidays!
I was really sad not to have Ramya with us, I do have to admit. Her gifts sat unopened under the tree and it made me sad every time I saw them. In October, when we heard our court process was done, was thought for sure we would have her home by Christmas, and were thinking it would even be much sooner than that. In hindsight, we weren't ready (still just getting the room done), and it would have made things crazy, but hey, I like crazy ;)! I know God's timing will be perfect and that we will soon have her in our arms, and that is what is important.
So without further-ado, here are some photos from our Christmas extravaganza!

A Christmas Chair for Madi
Madi picked out all her own decorations and loves her new look. I'd still like to put lights on the wheels, but need to buy battery-operated Christmas lights. Without further-ado...
(Little covers David's mom, "Grams" made for Madi. They are padded so when her legs rest against the bar, it doesn't put pressure on her legs :))

Catching up on our photos! Lots to see!
I swear, we DID have a Christmas, and I FINALLY have evidence! I have been really bad about uploading my photos. I have a lot to catch up on, so get ready!
Our yearly tradition... baking cookies as a family
She loves to stir!
Silly boy.
They love licking the batter... Madi's HKFOs helped her stand so she could help us.
Christmas with my parents.
Madi's new friend, Woody!
Conner's latest super hero obession; Iron Man.
Madi and her cousin Nathan at David's parent's house.

Madi and her Uma have fun together!
Zooming in Madi's new hot rod... a push button Princess car!
Conner showing off his new undees from The Pampered Tush (she thought he needed a little something special, and she was right! He LOVED them!)
Madi's new stash of trainers from The Pampered Tush. The snap-in liners are topped with velour and are SO soft! She loves them!
Conner insisted we take a picture of his new undees, just like I did for Madi's undees.
Happy 4th birthday big boy!
Checking out the stash of gifts.
The card was musical and he LOVED it!
Make a wish!
Strawberry cake, just as he requested!
