An Update from our Holiday Inn Experience

I just heard from the IHG corporate office and wanted to update those of you who are following our story.

The gentleman I spoke to on the phone had read my previous blog post and addressed my concerns about our recent stay.  He was apologetic and corrected the issues that we had.  IHG has agreed to..

  1. Give us a partial credit to our account so that we are charged in accordance to the rooms that we actually stayed in, as well as what the front end manager had offered us when we were moved (to pay for one room, not two).
  2. Credited our rewards card with bonus points towards a future stay.
  3. Most importantly, they will be updating the website for that specific Holiday Inn (the Holiday Inn and Suites in Anaheim by Disneyland) to reflect that the section of the hotel with their themed suites does NOT have elevator access.

Though we will not stay at that specific Holiday Inn again, due to the assistant general manager and her treatment towards us/our situation, I am satisfied with the follow-up that we received from Corporate, and I am thankful that they are going to take steps towards making sure this does not happen to other Holiday Inn guests.

Though this incident was stressful and time-consuming, we still had a good vacation, and are still thankful for our time together.

Fun at the San Diego Zoo

In October, kids go free to a bunch of attractions in San Diego.  Of course we had to take advantage of that and head over to the San Diego Zoo.  We all really enjoyed ourselves, though we could have used more time in the park to see more of it.  The zoo is huge with lots of ups and downs, so a bit slower for us to travel safely with all three wheelchairs.  Thankfully we had a few extra sets of hands since my parents were with us so that helped a lot.  We also saw the firefly attachment in use there and one day, when we can afford to get 3, I think that would be an awesome option to give the girls more stamina and independence at places where they are going to be on the go all day, especially up lots of hills.

The Sky Tram was the kiddos favorite part, though they loved the animals too. Here are some photos of our time there...

Introducing the newest member of our family...

...  The Beast.

It's a used 2015 Ford Transit w/ EcoBoost.  It doesn't have any accessibility yet but we will get there.  That's the next step!  We purchased it from a dealership in Texas because David really wanted the EcoBoost and it was difficult to find used.

It's huge and I'm still not good at parking it, but I'm trying to learn.  The best part??  It fits 3 wheelchairs, 4 kids, 1 momma, 1 dad, and there's still room for a few friends and groceries!  It's amazing!

We are so excited to finally have something that fits us all!
